1. Data Capture using LogiSail Data Logger
|
|
During the race, simply plug
a Palm Pilot to your NMEA instrument network to capture
all the data.
You can have only a GPS, or a complete navstation, the
data available is recorded and will allow the replay
and the analysis of the race. |
2. Data Transformation using LogiSail Data Transformer
|
|
After the race,
the data captured in the Palm Pilot can be transformed
using any laptop or desktop computer using LogiSail
Data Transformer. You only need to synchronize your
Palm with the computer (standard Palm Hot Sync) and
LogiSail transformer will do the rest. You can now replay
the race and analyze your performance. |
3. Data Analysis LogiSail Dashboard
|
|
Using the dashboard,
debrief the race with your crew to comment on the tactic,
the boat handling, the weather conditions and analyze
all the race elements to improve your sailing performance. |
Analyze the race with your crew in a debriefing session and
answer questions such as:
- What course did I sail?
Visualize your entire course on a map.
Play your course like on a VCR.
-
Did I go on the right side of
the course?
Visualize the wind and current shifts in force and
direction. Analyze your tactic options.
-
Did the boat perform at its best
performance?
Compare the boat speed to the target speed.
Analyze the VMG and heading.
-
How well did I handle the laylines?
Visualize the laylines, upwind and downwind during
the replay
|
- How efficiently do we tack and gybe?
Visualize graphically all the tacks and gybes and
get a rating from the system.
- Are the instruments properly calibrated?
Identify if your speedo, compass and vane are calibrated
and determine the offset to correct your instruments
if needed.
- What are the polars for my boat?
Use the graphical Polar Editor to refine your boat's
polar for all wind conditions
|
